Meridian Scholar Advisory was founded to give families a calm, competent guide through the tangled process of college planning and grant applications — without the sales pressure of loan brokers or the one-size-fits-all pace of a busy high-school counselor's office.

Founder

Leonard Holcomb

Leonard has spent more than a decade helping students in the Front Range and beyond navigate scholarships, community-college transfers, and returning-adult programs. Before founding Meridian Scholar Advisory, he served as a coordinator with a nonprofit college-access program and volunteered as a FAFSA night facilitator at Denver-area high schools.

He works with each family personally — no junior associates, no outsourced coaches. When Leonard is not with clients, he can usually be found reading in the Park Hill neighborhood or hiking Bergen Peak with his family.

Independence

We do not represent lenders, universities, or scholarship-search platforms. Our only obligation is to the family across the table.

Plain language

Financial aid has too many acronyms. We translate every form, deadline, and package into words a parent or student can actually use.

Realistic hope

We will not promise scholarships or admissions. We will show you what is realistic, what stretches, and how to be ready for either.

Follow-through

Plans are worthless without follow-through, so we build the checklists, reminders, and check-ins into every engagement.

Rooted in Colorado.

We are proud to call Denver home. Most in-person meetings happen near our Sweetwood Drive office in the Hilltop neighborhood, and we regularly host workshops with community groups across the Front Range.

Because much of our work happens over shared documents and video calls, we work with families across the country — from first-generation students in the Midwest to career-change learners on both coasts.
